These images were obtained using the Olympus C-5050 MegaPixel digital camera using the 3x optical zoom.

Seven high resolution images are taken, one after the other, and then stitched together into an image, that, if it were uncompressed, would occupy almost 40 megabytes.

Here you can view extremely large images with a viewing tool called 'Zoomify'.  Its quite easy to use and lets you pan around the image at any level of zoom, showing you the part of the image you choose without making you download the whole image.  Click on a date below to try it.

High resolution images (11340 x 2320) of the town of Jupiter are taken once a day around 1pm.  These images can be viewed by clicking on the desired date below.  To view these large images efficiently, even over slow speed internet connections, a special 'Flash' applet is used that divides the image up into hundreds of smaller images and larger low resolution images.  Then only the area you choose to view, and the needed resolution to fill the screen is sent to the browser.  This application is called 'Zoomify' and the creation of the necessary files and the uploading of them to our server has been automated in the webcam software provided by EVS.

There are a few links that will 'not be found'.  Sometimes the uploading at night does not take place properly due to Internet problems.
